Global Fleet & Trade is an independent passion project created by Thomas and Viola.
We have been a close-knit team and life partners for many years. Together, we share the vision of creating a living, persistent online world that continues to evolve and offers players new challenges, stories, economic opportunities, and meaningful decisions over time.
Thomas is responsible for the technical development of Global Fleet & Trade. This includes programming, server architecture, the economic simulation, game systems, the user interface, and the many interconnected mechanics required to make a persistent online world possible.
Viola is responsible for the creative and organizational side of the project. She works on stories, characters, missions, events, gameplay flow, atmosphere, and many other elements that help turn individual ideas into a believable and coherent world.
A game like Global Fleet & Trade requires far more than technical systems alone. Hundreds of missions, stories, events, characters, item descriptions, and different gameplay situations must be created, reviewed, balanced, and connected to the wider game world.
Normally, a project of this scale would require a large team of developers, writers, artists, designers, and coordinators. As a small independent team, we therefore also use AI-assisted tools in selected areas. These tools help us develop large amounts of narrative content, mission variations, text drafts, ideas, and visual concepts.
Without this support, creating hundreds of individual quests, assignments, and storylines would take many additional years. However, AI does not replace our own work. Every idea, mission, event, and piece of content still has to be selected, revised, reviewed, and integrated into the game by us. The creative direction, technical systems, and all final decisions remain entirely in our hands.
We both love this game and are working together to create something that goes far beyond a traditional trading simulation. A persistent online world with a living economy, dynamic events, and long-term development would be extremely difficult for ordinary people like us to build alone.
Global Fleet & Trade is therefore not the product of a large studio. It is the result of passion, perseverance, teamwork, modern tools, and our shared determination to create something extraordinary.
